PROFESSIONAL aRCHAEOLOGICAL ILLUSTRATION

Valerie Woelfel St. Paul, MN 651 955-7198 [email protected]

I had no idea that there was such a field as archaeological illustration until I was finishing up my bachelor’s degree in studio art. I had always been fascinated by archeology and history and was researching field schools before going on to pursue a Masters in Ancient Studies. In one of the course catalogs I saw a listing for an archaeological illustration class in London. I immediately booked the class and was hooked

One of the benefits that I offer my clients is the knowledge that comes from over three decades of working in the field and the lab. This has given me an understanding of what needs to be communicated in my images. In all of my work I have an obsession with accuracy and working closely with the client to understand their research and the information and stories they need to share with my drawings.
